Congratulations Round Two

Last week Emily and Brooke wore the cap and gown. They graduated with bachelor degrees in journalism and Kinesiology.

This weekend, Jacob Longton and Matt Quinn graduate with Master of Science degrees in Structural Engineering and Chemistry.

Jacob, who is being recruited by a Structural Engineering firm in Philadelphia and Detroit, will receive his degree from the University of Michigan. He began his undergraduate endeavors at Central Michigan, then transferred to U of M and stayed there throughout graduate school.

Matt was a Chippewa all the way through, from undergrad to graduate school. He recently presented his oral defense of his master's thesis in Inorganic Chemistry and then was offered and accepted a job in chemical engineering in Boulder, Colorado.

Last week I wrote about two of my favorite Brooke and Emily stories. There are too many great stories of Matt and Jacob to pick a few to share. My favorite times with them were practicing in Chris's basement and hanging-out afterwards.

Jacob and Matt are the first of our close group of friends to receive advanced degrees from prestigious universities. Now they have to enter the real world (not MTV's real world) and be responsible adults. (Glad I'm not there yet.)

Congratulations Matt and Jacob!
